A Visit to Orang Utan Island

On 30th of September 2010, Man of Da Jungle Team (MODJ) had visited to Orang Utan Island, Bukit Merah. MODJ team are consists of four Form 4 students. The students are Mohd. Zuhair, Mohd. Amirun Arif, Nur Fahimah and Siti Zulaikha. We were guided by our teacher’s advisor, Mr. Irwan Fahmy. We went there to gain more knowledge about orang utan.
We departed from school at 8 o’clock in the morning. The journey took us about three hours to arrive at Bukit Merah. From Bukit Merah Laketown Resort, we needed to take boat to go orang utan Island. We went to orang utan Island at 12.45 p.m. We were really excited to go there. When we stepped our foot there, one of Orang Utan Island’s Public Relation (PR) officer was waiting for our arrival.
Our first impression of the island was excited about the orang utans there. When we arrived there, we could see many orang utan were swinging through the treetops near the lake bank. We continued our journey into the island with the help of the officer. Along the journey, we took lots of video and picture of the orang utan in the island. Unfortunately, we could not go far enough because most of the orang utan got infection. Therefore, we continued our programme by interviewing one of the officers the Orang Utan Island.
Through the interview, we got more new information about orang utan. Although we could not get closer to the orang utan due to the infection, we still got much valuable and precious information. It really was a big help for us. We went back to school at 3.15 p.m.
